Blantyre Vics have a new manager

Ian Rankin left Newmains United to become the New Manager of the Vics after Willie Harvey resigned to take over at Ruthglen Glencairn. Ian said that he is looking forward to the new season and is hopeful that he can take the club to the next level.He leaves Newmains in good shape as he had resigned few of last years players and he wishes them all the best for the coming season.

 

Bellshill get temporary new ground

North Lanarkshire council have allowed Bellshill juniors to play there home games at the Sir Matt Busby centre for the coming season, the commitee are delighted that they have some where to play out off as this was causing them and the league all sorts of problems.

Menelaws up for sale

Royal Albert have put David Menelaws up for sale at his own request. Any club interested can contact Peter Higgins and they say they will not be difficult to deal with. David has played at senior level and also in the premier league (juniors).

Frozen pitch pospones Thorniewood game

Thorniewood had two pitch inspection before they all agreed that the game could not go ahead due to a frozen pitch in some areas so the have to do it all again next weekend.

Bellshill lease pitch until end of season

Ex-Committee Member Steven McGhee and allowed Bellshill the use of the park until the end of February and they hope to sit down again with Steven to arrange a further lease until the end of the season.

Vics in negotiation

Blantyre Vics are in negotiation with Lanark United to sign Goalkeeper Tam McQuiggan and are hopeful they can conclude the signing this week, also they are talking to James Cochrane who has just been freed by Shettleston, James had a spell with Stranarar before joining the junior ranks again.

Bonner joins Neilston

The Larkhall Thistle striker Andrew Bonner, son of ex-Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner, has left Larkhall Thistle to sign for Neilston Juniors Football Club.

Wishaw complete signing

Wishaw just completed the signing of former St Mirren player Gary McGrotty, Manager Young said that this is a great signing as we have a lot of young lads at the club and his experience will be invaluable and we hope that he brings the best out of the other players.

Bellshill Homeless

Bellshill Athletic are homeless as of today as their landlord Steven McGhee has closed the doors off new Brandon park due to the heavy cost of keeping the playing surface up to a good standard. Club secretary Alan Bryce said that they are disappointed at the decision to close the park but we have to look to the future and we are in discussion with two local teams to see if we can share with them until we can sort this out.
